Health News from Dr. Pani
Medical Director – Urgent Care Hawaii
We are always encouraging our patients to incorporate healthy habits into their daily lives, like a healthy diet, exercise and fresh pure water, plenty of sleep and relaxation /destressing therapies.
When it comes to healthy eating, there are many positive health benefits. In fact, even small changes in dietary habits can have big effects on health like feeling better, looking better, losing weight and reducing the incidence of colds and flu. Though many of us are incorporating more fresh foods, fruits and vegetables into our meals, finding and choosing healthy snacks and drinks can be a challenge. Let’s face it – there is a lot of junk food out there!
Recently, the Hawaii State Department of Health developed nutrition criteria to help guide consumers when they are making choices to buy healthy snacks and drinks. The new campaign, “Choose Healthy Now” makes it easier to make healthy choices. Several convenience stores, markets and even hospital cafeterias are promoting healthy snack and food items with “Choose Healthy Now” labeling. There also can be price savings on many items.
I encourage our readers to look for snacks and drinks labeled “Choose Healthy Now”. To learn more go to: http://www.healthyhawaii.com/choose-healthy-now/
