Urgent Care Registration Process

If you have been exposed to someone who is positive for COVID-19 or believe you may have contracted COVID-19 and would like to be tested

The continued safety of our community and Ohana is our primary concern. Due to the spike in community spread of the Corona Virus, we are limiting the number of patients entering the urgent care clinic.  

Carefully read the instructions below for a safe and efficient testing process.

  1. We offer three convenient locations to complete your COVID-19 testing in Honolulu. Click on the links below for directions. 
    • Covid 19 testing – Pearl City: 1245 Kuala St, Pearl City, HI 96782.
    • Covid 19 testing – Kapolei: 890 Kamokila Blvd, Kapolei, HI 96707.
    • Covid 19 testing – Kailua: 660 Kailua Rd, Kailua, HI 96734.
  2. When you arrive at the center, pick up your registration paperwork outside.
  3. Complete the registration papers in your car.
  4. When completed please put the registration papers in the box indicated and return to your car.
  5. Be sure to indicate the reason for your visit, the make and model of your car, and your license plate.

If you are at the center for a COVID-19 Test:

  • Follow all the steps mentioned above. 
  • A medical assistant dressed in personal protective equipment (PPE) will administer a nasal swab test. The PPE acts as a barrier that reduces the chance of touching, being exposed to, and spreading the virus while conducting tests.
  • You will be asked to go home directly after the test and isolate until your results are ready.
  • An urgent care provider (MD or NP) will contact you via a text message click on the link in the text and it will connect you with a secure video call with an MD or NP to receive your results.

FAQ

If it’s medically necessary, meaning symptoms or exposure, insurance will cover the test. However we do not accept Kaiser, Ohana and Aloha.

The prices are $150 kama’aina and $175 regular. Taxes applicable. Insurance will cover the test if you have been exposed or have symptoms.

We do not take appointments.  It is walk in only.  Please come to the center.  Pick up registration paperwork at the front door and complete it in your car.  (Do not wait on the sidewalk or outside your car.)  When complete return it to the front desk.  The nurse will call you when it is time to be tested.  If the wait time is long, you may leave and return when the nurse calls you.  You will not lose your place in line.  Once tested, the provider will contact you with results.  Please watch for a text that says the provider is ready to see you.  Click on the link and you will have a secure video visit with the provider to discuss your results.  You may ask questions at that time.  Be sure to request a work note if you need it and it will be emailed to you.

Yes, we do have rapid PCR tests.  However, the provider will determine what type of test is indicated based on your condition.  Results may be same day or 48 hours.  After you have been tested, the provider will call you with results.  At that time, your results will be emailed to you.  If you need a work note, please be sure to let the provider know, so that it sent at the same time.

Results for rapid PCR are given in the same day.  Results for the RT PCR sent to the lab, will be available in 48 hours.  The provider will call you with your results.  You will receive a text message stating the doctor is ready to see you.  Click on the link and you will have a secure video visit.  You may ask the provider your questions and request a work note at that time.

An exposure is being 6 feet or less, for 15 minutes or more with someone who tested positive for COVID-19.  If you are unvaccinated and have had a true exposure, you should be tested.  If you are fully vaccinated, you should wait 3-5 days and then be tested.  If you have symptoms, you should be tested whether or not you are vaccinated.  A secondary exposure is being in contact with someone who has a true exposure. You do not need to be tested for secondary exposures, unless you have symptoms.

After you are tested.  The provider will contact you with results.  Please watch for a text stating the provider is ready to see you.  Click on the link and you will have a secure video visit with the provider to give your results.  Your results will be emailed to you.  If you need a work note, please request on at this time.

If you are tested at our center and the provider has called you with your results, please ask for a work note to be emailed at that time.  If you forget to ask for a work note, please text 808-797-7980 and ask for a work note.  We will need your name and the date you came in for your test.  The work note will be emailed to you.

No we do not do free testing.  Please do an internet search for free covid testing for organizations that do free COVID testing.

If we are at capacity for the day, please come back early the next day.  We will register you and let you know how long the wait will be.  You may leave and we will call you when it is time to be tested.  If you must be tested today, please search online for “COVID testing near me”.
