Urgent Care Hawaii wants to inform you that the Hawaii Department of Health has changed requirements for school health effective July 1, 2020. There are several changes which should be reviewed individually with your child(ren)’s pediatrician or family physician.
We are encouraging parents’ to schedule an appointment with your pediatrician or family physician to complete your child(ren)’s health physical for the new school year and to update immunization records based on the new requirements.
Here is a summary of the requirements:
- Physical examination within the past year for all students entering school in Hawaii as well as entering 7th grade. Must be completed by a U.S. licensed physician, NP, or PA.
- TB Clearance. For more information visit: (808) 832-5731 or health.hawaii.gov/tb
- Immunization requirement updates per the chart below:
Urgent Care Hawaii can perform school health physicals starting at a low rate of $50 + tax for those 18yrs and younger (Disclaimer: School physicals are not covered by your insurance in an Urgent Care facility. This also does not replace your Annual Health Physical with your pediatrician). If you will be getting your child(ren)’s physical performed at any of our four locations, please come prepared with their immunization documents.
For parents seeking exemptions from immunizations, there should be a visit with the your pediatrician rather than an urgent care to discuss in detail.
